Xavier Institute of management (XLRI)- Jamshedpur & Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI)- Gurgaon with the mandate to strengthen the health system’s capability are joining hands for the genesis & development of this unique MDP on Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) outcomes of Healthcare Programs. This will be first of its kind of MDP where two leading organizations in the field of management & public health come together to formulate and develop such program with their vast knowledge, expertise and experience in the respective fields. This program will enhance the knowledge and skills of mid-level and upper-level healthcare professionals in developing strong M & E mechanism for the organizations and programs. The proposed MDP will equip them to use various monitoring and evaluation frameworks, tools and techniques to achieve the desired outcomes of the program on one hand. On the other hand, the unique feature of learning and follow up actions will enable the healthcare professionals in ensuring the successful implementation of the health program and sharing of learned knowledge and experience with the wider audience. It will not only provides an opportunity to the professionals to keep track of the program progress but also gives a chance to identify gaps and rectify the underlying causes and obstacles. It is an important component to ensure the program success at all levels of program implementation and management cycle. It will also encompass the practical experience needed to enhance the effectiveness of the professionals working with government, non-government and private institutions. This course will be a 5 days residential training program comprising of monitoring and evaluation training of health programs with a primary focus on learning outcomes from various M & E plans effective for health programs. The foundation of this MDP will be interdisciplinary with the value of mixing theory and practical application in a problem-solving perspective.

XLRI is offering around fifty MDP program covering all functional areas. These MDPs are designed keeping in view the ever changing demands of professionals. The objective of the MDPs is to help improve management systems and practices in India and other countries in South Asian Region by providing relevant training to the executives of different sectors of the economy operating at different levels in the organizational hierarchy. The participants are equipped with the latest tools, techniques and skills spanning different streams of management.
The Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) is a public private initiative that has collaboratively evolved through consultations with multiple constituencies including Indian and International academia, state and central governments, multi & bi-lateral agencies and civil society groups. PHFI is a response to redress the limited institutional capacity in India for strengthening training, research & policy development in the area of public health. The PHFI focuses on broad dimensions of public health that encompass promotive, preventive and therapeutic services, many of which are frequently lost in policy planning as well as in popular understanding.

PHFI recognizes the fact that meeting the shortfall of health professionals is imperative to a sustained and holistic response to the public health concerns in the country which in turn requires health care to be addressed not only from the scientific perspective of what works, but also from the social perspective of, who needs it the most.

  • Any graduate with minimum 5 years experience in health sector program OR Post-graduate with minimum 3 years experience in health sector programs. The participants should be key functionaries at Government health programs, NGOs or public health sector undertakings.

    Program Schedule
